Zoe Meyer is a visual artist and creative writer based in Paris, France. Born in New England, United States, in 1996, Zoe works across embroidery, moving image, sculpture, installation, drawing, writing, and translation. Zoe completed her fine arts master’s degree at the Villa Arson in Nice, France, in 2023 with high honors and obtained a second university master’s degree at Paris 1-Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris, France, with high honors in 2024.
Zoe Meyer recently presented her work in her first solo exhibition titled it is a body. it is your body. curated by Théo-Mario Coppola, at the GARAGE FONTANA in Modica, Italy (Dec. 2025 – March 2026). Her work has been featured in the group exhibition Sweet Days of Discipline at the Villa Arson in Nice, October 2024-February 2025, and in the group exhibition Waall 07 at the Galerie au Roi in Paris, as part of the 24th edition of the Paris Nuit Blanche festival in June 2025. Zoe completed a residency at the Ateliers Médicis in Paris and Haute-Loire as part of the Création en cours project in January-July 2024. She was invited as a guest teacher and artist-in-residence at the MADE Academy of Fine Arts in Syracuse, Sicily, in April-May 2024. She currently practices out of her studio in the 5ème arrondissement of Paris.
Zoe’s multidisciplinary practice employs embroidery, drawing, moving image, and creative writing to craft a language of the unspoken and the intimate. She creates incandescent glyphs, ciphers, and iconographies that act as fragmented vectors of cultural memory, transgenerational commitments, and subterranean communications. Her current research is focused on translating artisanal textile arts like embroidery, weaving, lacemaking, and handcrafting fishing nets into contemporary modes of expression.
